GNU
The GNU Project was launched in 1984 to develop a complete Unix-like operating system but based on free software. The GNU kernel was never finished, so GNU using the Linux kernel.Combination of GNU and Linux is an operating system GNU / Linux, which is now used widely.Sometimes this combination is incorrectly called Linux. Nowadays there are many different variants or "distributions" of GNU / Linux. GNU stands for rekrusif of the GNU's Not Unix "and is pronounced ge-nuu.
