Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer. Secure version of HTTP. Discovered by Netscape Communications to provide authentication and encrypted communications. Instead of using plain text communication, HTTPS protocol menyadikan session data using SSL (secure socket layer) or TLS protocol (transport layer security). The second protocol provides adequate protection from attacks by eavesdroppers, and play the middle attacks. In general, HTTPS port is 443.
