Rootkit

Collection of software that aims to hide processes, files and data system that is running from an operating system which he heads. Rootkit was originally a harmless form of application, but lately has been widely used by malware that is intended to help intruders maintain their action into the system so as not detected. Rootkit present in a variety of operating systems such as Linux, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows. Rootkits often modify parts of the operating system, and also install themselves as drivers or kernel modules.
