PHP

PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor. Used as a scripting language to process data from HTML forms via CGI. PHP works on a computer server to produce HTML code that is sent to a web browser.Famous examples of PHP applications are phpBB and MediaWiki (the software behind Wikipedia). Examples of other applications built using PHP are Mambo, Joomla!, Xaraya and others.
